Me and MK go back aways. In fact, I still have my = vinyl copy of "Proud To Be Loud" stashed in a safe place. If you know me at all, you = will know that my natural environment is a seedy basement bar with a hot rockin' = blues band. Now let me introduce you to some of the songs on the new MK album = - "On The Prowl For A Hoochie Mama", "Rock 'n' Roll Man", "Whiskey Hill" and = "Dirty Thang". Now rush off to your nearest bookies and try to get odds on me = liking this. Back so soon, stake money still hand? Well, what the hell did you = expect. Because this rawks!

Frankly, Michael Katon blows most other blues = rockers out of the water, and then some. In days of yore he wasn't the best = vocalist, but he's now adopted a down and dirty growl that suits the music down to = a T. The guitars are heavy, the backbeat is sleazy, "In The Land Of = Rock'n'Roll" features the line 'In The Land Of Rock'n'Roll' over 20 times, "Dirty = Thang" requests 'Girl, shake that thang all night' and I was in hog heaven from = beginning to end.

If you thought the Delaware Destroyers were as = good as it got, then get yourself some Michigan boogie a bit sharpish, cos' it = doesn't get any better than this. Oh, and if you get the chance to see him live = sometime in the near future, do it. His live band now features the legendary = Johnny “Bee” Badanjek, formerly of Mitch Ryder and The Detroit Wheels, Edgar Winter, = Dr. John, Alice Cooper, Ronnie Montrose, Bob Seger and a thousand other. Now = I have to go dig out my Rockets albums. Hell, yeah!

:twisted :twisted = :twisted :twisted and 1/2 out of 5
